The Eagles remain atop the NFC East as Week 5 of the NFL season looms.
The Philadelphia Eagles have cemented themselves as kings of the NFC East after a nail-biting win against the Washington Commanders in Week 4. Not only did the victory put a checkmark in the win column, but those wins over divisional opponents are huge for the standings as they represent tie-breakers.
Entering Week 5, the NFC East standings currently look as follows:
Rank | Team | Record |
---|---|---|
1 | Philadelphia Eagles | 4-0 |
2 | Dallas Cowboys | 3-1 |
3 | Washington Commanders | 2-2 |
4 | New York Giants | 1-3 |
Can you imagine your team having a loss through four weeks in the 2023 season? Couldn’t be us. The only thing here that really stands out is the Dallas Cowboys' 3-1 record.
Last week, the New England Patriots visited Arlington and got whomped by a 38-3 final score. That isn't at all what we wanted to see.
We were kind of hoping to see Dallas's spirits crushed a la that humiliating Week 3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, they returned with a vengeance and took their frustrations out on Bill Belichick and company.
In Week 3, we bore witness to a thorough dismantling of the New York Giants courtesy of the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. The G-Men lost by a 24-3 final score in a game that was never competitive.
Quarterback Daniel Jones threw two interceptions including a 97-yard pick-six. Now, that was funny. He was also sacked ten times. That was also VERY funny. The Giants are a very bad football team, and that should put a smile on your face. It most certainly placed a smile on ours.
We're on to Week 5. Let's see what the Eagles' divisional rivals have to look forward to in their games. Here are a few predictions about what might happen.
