Patrick Johnson, linebacker

One of the more tense moments of camp so far occurred when Patrick Johnson was carted off of the practice field after injuring himself and being unable to place any weight on his leg. Sure, injuries are a part of the game, but no one wants to see them occur, even if that's impossible. It appears that there isn't any serious damage, so that's a good thing.

Prior to his setback, Johnson was settling in and having a nice camp. All coaches ask is that players perform at peak level and make the most of their opportunities when they are given a shot, and Patrick has done that and them some.

Will he make the 53-man roster at the preseason's end? No one can guarantee that, at least not yet, but if he is able to get back on the field and make some splash plays, that will go a long way in helping his case.

So far in his career, he has been on the field for 324 defensive snaps during the 2021 and 2022 NFL seasons. He also pitched in by way of 569 special teams snaps. 28 tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery have been added to his resume as a result. Stay tuned.
