Trade Number 2: Philadelphia trades solely picks, makes intriguing cut
Philadelphia's running back room is already so crowded, that making a deal for another running back only makes sense if it's a guy like Taylor. This is a move you make if you're a Super Bowl contender, which the Eagles certainly are.
But, if you traded for Taylor, then the question becomes: what do you do with the rest of the guys in that room? Well, let's look at a trade that would force the issue for Philly, first.
Taylor Trade 2
In this deal, the Eagles would send a second and a fifth-round pick in 2024, along with a third and a seventh-round pick in 2025, giving the Colts a total of four draft picks. Knowing that Indy wants a first rounder, or the equivalent, this is just about as close as it gets if the Eagles aren't actually including a first.
From here, the Eagles could make a cut like Rashaad Penny, who was signed earlier in the offseason. Cutting Penny wouldn't do too much damage either, as the Eagles would take on just $600,000 in dead cap.
