Potential Eagles free-agent targets who aren't being discussed often enough
Antoine Winfield Jr., safety, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
We have NEVER heard any rumors of the Philadelphia Eagles pursuing Antoine Winfield Jr., nor have we seen anything to indicate they'd make a run at him during free agency. Here's the thing though. We should be discussing this a lot more often.
How many of you would be upset if we told you he reminds us of Malcolm Jankins? Both can come down and cover slot wide receivers. They can play in the box, and they can roam the deep portion of the field as well.
Patrick Queen, Baltimore Ravens
Here's a confession. There were times when this past Eagles season led us to both negative thoughts and jealousy. Why couldn't our Birds be as competitive as the Baltimore Ravens?
We're obviously referencing the Ravens that we saw leading up to the AFC Championship Game of course. That last game... Wow... They kind of looked like Philly over the past month of the season in some ways.
Here's the point. We've had a little Kyle Hamilton and Patrick Queen envy all season. The former was taken one spot after Philly drafted Jordan Davis in 2022. The latter was a rumored Eagles trade target, but those discussions didn't lead to anything. That's okay! We have come to reignite the rumors.
Patrick Queen does it all from the linebacker position. He racks up sacks. He's good in coverage, and he plays the run very well. Write this down. This is one of the NFL's top off-ball linebackers, and if Philly can land him, they must make sure they do so.
