Following a 2022-2023 campaign ending with the Philadelphia Eagles representing the National Football Conference in the Super Bowl, the Birds were assigned a schedule featuring only three 1 p.m. EST kickoffs. Two of those games were against the Washington Commanders.

As we await the announcement of the coming schedule, we do so knowing Philly isn't the defending NFC Champions. Still, they're one of pro football's most popular franchises. Again, we expect primetime action.

That means late nights for us sports writers. That also means a few big wins and some national spotlight for one of the NFL's most consistent draws. Seven Eagles games last season kicked off after 7 p.m. EST (including the Wild Card debacle). How many times might we see them that late in 2024?

Here are a handful of games that make sense as primetime affairs for the Eagles.

The Eagles will endure one of the NFL's toughest schedules in 2024. What else is new? Here's a look at their opponents and the locations:

Home and Away

New York Giants
Dallas Cowboys
Washington Commanders

Home

Atlanta Falcons
Carolina Panthers
Cleveland Browns
Green Bay Packers (Philly is the home team)
Jacksonville Jaguars
Pittsburgh Steelers

Away

Baltimore Ravens
Cincinnati Bengals
Los Angeles Rams
New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There are some premium clashes there. So many deserve the spotlight, but here are a few that make sense in primetime.

We're aware of one game - Week 1 vs The Packers

Well, this one feels like cheating. We have long known of the NFL's intentions to send Philly to Sao Paolo, Brazil to be part of its kickoff plans for the coming season. The Green Bay Packers are the opponent. This could be a potential playoff preview early.

We're down!

Eagles vs Cowboys in Arlington on Sunday Night Football

While Philly's home affair versus the hated Dallas Cowboys figures to be a 4:30 p.m. EST start or so, the annual clash between these two is always featured on Sunday Night Football. There's no use in fixing something if it isn't broken.

Then again, Birds fans might argue that this portion of the schedule has broken for a while. Philly hasn't won in Arlington since 2017. This time, they break the jinx... hopefully. This time, a game that has offered us so much agony ends with an Eagles win.

That's our story. We're sticking to it.

Eagles vs Giants

The Eagles have controlled this rivalry as of late, so some of you youngsters are unaware of how much angst there is here. Us old heads still have the G-Men as much as we ever did though. Pro football's schedule makers are well aware of that, so they always find a way to partner these two in one of those FOX Games of the Week. This year will be no different.

Keep something in mind. Saquon Barkley plays for Philly now. His return to MetLife Stadium in a rival's jersey is nothing short of must-see television for everyone.

Eagles vs Ravens

Think about this. We're talking about two stars at the QB position... Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson... We're talking two contenders and two of the best teams in their respective conferences. This one has to be in the national spotlight. If not, what the heck are we doing here?

Eagles vs. Bengals & Eagles vs. Steelers (honorable mentions)

These two may not be as entertaining as the Eagles vs. Ravens affair, but the AFC North will again be full of fierce competition. Who knows how good the Bengals and Steelers will be? Still, Philly always seems to lose to the Bengals (or tie them), and no football fan worth his or her salt would be bored by a clash of two teams from the Keystone State.
