Trusted NFL source draws lines connecting Eagles to now-former Dolphins DC Vic Fangio
Those dominoes certainly fell quickly, didn't they?
It appears the Philadelphia Eagles may get their man after all, albeit almost one full year after they originally hoped they'd add him. There are times when dominoes fall quickly in the NFL. That's especially true when someone tips them over.
Philly parted ways with their defensive coordinator of the most recent NFL season on Sunday. Three days later, the Miami Dolphins and Vic Fangio agreed to part ways. One of the game's trusted insiders seems to have already drawn lines connecting the dots that represent the Birds and the man they've wanted to be their defensive coordinator since last offseason.

There are tons of sources that occupy the NFL landscape. Most are trustworthy, but no one worth their salt doubts the reports of CBS Sports mainstay Josina Anderson. There are a lot of players and insiders who trust her word, as they should. The list of players and coaches who trust her enough to talk to her is endless.
Recently, following the news of Vic Fangio and the Miami Dolphins' agreed split, Anderson took to X to share what she's hearing on the topic.

The discussion doesn't stop there though. The same sentiments were later echoed by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Dolphins and Vic Fangio have mutually agreed to part ways, sources tell me and @JFowlerESPN. Fangio now will be the top target for the Philadelphia Eagles to hire as their defensive coordinator, and a deal is expected. Philly would have hired Vic Fangio last February had they been given the opportunity. Now, it appears they'll earn their chance to do so. Oh, and by the way... This is a move that will certainly satisfy an always-opinionated Eagles fan base and Philly media.
