Saquon Barkley uttered the unsaid about Eagles' Nick Sirianni

Yep not said enough about him.

It feels like every other offseason, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has to take on some kind of criticism for what happened the previous year and find himself on the hot seat.

That appears to be the case in the 2026 offseason, as he had to fire an offensive coordinator for the second time in three years and deal with drama around Jalen Hurts reports and A.J. Brown right before his trade to the New England Patriots. A new story by The Athletic's Michael Silver spent some time with Sirianni as one of his players, Saquon Barkley, spoke about his head coach.

“He doesn’t get enough credit at all, in my opinion,” Barkley said. “I don’t get why he doesn’t. Like, what he’s doing, in real time, is legendary.

“If we’re being honest, no one talks about it enough. Like, we love to talk about me rushing for 2,000 yards, we love to talk about Jalen (Hurts), we love to talk about the Eagles. But he’s like the last one to get brought up, and it doesn’t really make sense.”

Saquon Barkley goes to bat for his head coach

Fans outside of the Eagles love to have the lazy argument that Sirianni does nothing and gets carried by a strong roster built by general manager Howie Roseman. The reality is that Sirianni has proven himself a winner in five years as the head coach.

Sirianni has accumulated a 59-26 overall record and has gone 6-4 in the postseason. He's taken the Eagles to the Super Bowl twice and has won one back in 2024.

History is being made by Sirianni, who's tied for the third-most wins in their first five years as a head coach with 65. He is behind Tony Dungy's 67 and George Seifert's 68.

Not many head coaches are doing what Sirianni is doing right now, and he deserves respect for the kind of culture he has built. Sure, Roseman might have brought in the players, but Sirianni has set the guys up to win and stay consistent in that category.

No matter what Sirianni does in his coaching career, he will be looked down upon because people don't like him personally. It doesn't matter to Eagles fans, though, because all he does is win, and that's all that matters in Philly.
