At some point, the Philadelphia Eagles will hire a new offensive coordinator, making it the fifth in five seasons. Oddly enough, it's been an 'every other year' thing for Philly. In 2022 and 2024, the Eagles reached the Super Bowl, winning in 2024.
But in the 2021, 2023, and 2025 seasons, the team went one-and-done in the playoffs. At some point, cycling through offensive coordinators has to stop, but while some fans may not want to hear it, the quarterback's limitations as a passer have contributed to this.
Sure, Jalen Hurts wins and is elite with the ball in his hands as a runner, but he's not a complete passer and isn't a QB that can drop back 35 times and game like others in the league can. This has contributed to the up-and-down nature of the offenses. Well, this could prompt GM Howie Roseman to perhaps get a bit creative in the QB room. We saw this a few years ago when Philly drafted Jalen Hurts while Carson Wentz was still around. Could he perhaps pull off something similar, but via trade?
Shedeur Sanders is named as a trade fit for the Philadelphia Eagles
Here is Christopher Kline in FanSided.com on Shedeur Sanders being a trade fit for the Philadelphia Eagles:
The Cleveland Browns' QB room hit a dead end in 2025. Both Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel were abject disasters. Deshaun Watson is due back next season, but he has been overpaid and underwhelming for years. A second major knee injury won't help. There's a good chance we see Cleveland targeting either Trinidad Chambliss or Ty Simpson in the first round of the NFL Draft. In the meantime, keeping Sanders — and all the media nonsense inherent to him — on the roster feels like an exercise in pointless annoyance.
That's not to say Sanders does not have appeal as a development project elsewhere. Cleveland moved ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles on draft night a year ago to claim Sanders in the fifth round. If the Eagles are willing to cough up a sixth- or seventh-round pick to see what Sanders can show them in practice, the Browns ought to consider it. Sanders would benefit from the, um... stability (?) in Philadelphia. There's a real culture there (normally) and Howie Roseman knows what he's doing, at least.
While the idea of adding a QB makes a lot of sense for the Eagles, I am not sure Shedeur Sanders would be a good trade. Sanders would bring a ton of attention and honestly contribute to an already dysfunctional environment and offense.
If the Eagles do want to bring in a notable QB, they could turn to the 2026 NFL Draft and sniff out someone in the middle rounds, but a trade option could still be on the table. Someone like Anthony Richardson, of the Indianapolis Colts, could be a fun option for the Eagles to try. He still has youth on his side.

With Tyler Shough holding it down for New Orleans, Spencer Rattler might also be an interesting option. It's clear, though, that Philly doesn't appear to be ready or willing to make a notable change at quarterback, but bringing in some insurance might be a wise idea. I am not sure the right solution for that is Shedeur Sanders, though.
