A.J. Brown has commanded all the attention from the media this week, but another hot topic was the issues the Philadelphia Eagles had with passing the football in last week's 31-25 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After completing 15 of his 16 passes in the first half of the Bucs game, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had a massive drop-off with zero completions in the second half. Hurts was still able to lead the Eagles to a win over the Buccaneers, but it just left way more questions about the passing game.
Eagles fans' first fingers would be pointed towards offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo for his play-calling. Some would say Hurts struggled to connect with Brown on multiple deep passes after the wide receiver only caught two of his nine targets for seven yards.
There's plenty of blame to go around, but the lingering questions about the passing game have only put more sour tastes in the media's mouth. Not many are starting to believe that Hurts can be effective in the passing game this season.
One bold prediction does not help Hurts any
NFL Spin Zone's Ryan Heckman shared his bold predictions for quarterbacks entering Week 5. Heckman believes that neither Broncos quarterback Bo Nix nor Hurts will throw for a touchdown, but run for four in the Denver-Philadelphia game on Sunday.
Both the Broncos and Eagles have had middling pass defenses to this point, but going against one another and each team having questionable passing games, thus far, it's the ground game that takes center stage.
Bo Nix hasn't been the rushing star we thought he'd be, at least in the early goings. Jalen Hurts, meanwhile, has four rushing scores on the year. In Week 4 against the Bucs, Hurts had zero passing yards in the second half. To top it off, wide receiver AJ Brown posted a cryptic tweet after the game which only led to more questions.
Hurts is only averaging 152 passing yards per game, but after this one, he dives even deeper into hands of the critics. Do the Eagles win? Does it even matter? People are going to talk, regardless.
Hurts has struggled to get a lot of yards in the air in a game, as he has only passed for over 200 yards in a contest once. That doesn't mean he struggles to throw for a touchdown, as he has five on the year, with the most important stat being zero turnovers.

The Eagles would love to get the passing game going, but don't be surprised if Hurts is able to squash this bold prediction and throw at least one touchdown. Of course, maybe add a rushing score or two with the beautiful Tush Push play as well.
