Philadelphia Eagles fans are feeling pretty good about themselves after Kevin Patullo was fired as the offensive coordinator of the team.
Now comes the hard part, as the team has to search for a new coordinator for the fourth straight season. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has been here before, but would like to not make this a habit.
There is a pool of good offensive-minded talent out there, but there are four that just make the most sense for the Eagles.
Mike McDaniel, Former Miami Dolphins HC
This one might be possible, but it could be a bit of a pipe dream; McDaniel makes all the sense in the world. Over the four years he was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, they were in the top 13 in total offense three of those years. Even though the 2025 season was not good for the Dolphins, which led to McDaniel's firing, he thrived in the running game, finishing 13th in rushing, the second-highest ranking of his head coaching tenure.
What this shows is that McDaniel can adapt to what is working well for the offense. That is something that made Kellen Moore successful as the Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2024. The Eagles would be crazy not call McDaniel first for an interview.
Kevin Stefanski, Former Cleveland Browns HC
Of the four candidates mentioned in the article, this one is the least likely to happen since Stefanski is likely to get a head coaching job elsewhere in 2026. He was a two-time Coach of the Year winner for the Browns, led them to the postseason twice, and even earned a win.
The Eagles could use someone with more offensive experience, and he has experience calling plays. Granted, over the last two years, he has given up play-calling duties, but remove the head coaching job, and Stefanski could do a lot better by focusing solely on the offense.
Brian Daboll, Former New York Giants HC
Here is a coach Eagles fans are very familiar with and should get excited about. Daboll has surprisingly not gotten many head coaching calls after taking the Giants to the playoffs once in his four years, but he has extensive offensive coordinator experience. The biggest one is coaching Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills and turning him into a star player.
He has already been in the local area since he coached out of New Jersey and has a ton of success coaching offenses. With no one else calling, Sirianni might be able to swoop him up and bring him to Philly to work on Jalen Hurts.

Todd Monken, Former Baltimore Ravens OC
Monken makes the most sense to hire, and there are a couple of reasons. Starting with his background, he has been the offensive coordinator for Lamar Jackson in Baltimore over the last three years and has transformed him into a more polished pocket passer, helping him win the NFL MVP in 2023.
Bringing in Monken means someone with a ton of experience in running an offense and play-calling. One other big thing, though: he's not as much of a threat to take a head coaching job, and he might actually be able to stay in Philly for years, like Vic Fangio is with the defense. This would be a good underrated hire for the Eagles.
