A new continent and a brand new sport haven't caused Philadelphia Eagles rookie Uar Bernard to waver one bit in his faith that things are going to work out just fine for him in the NFL.

Settling into his new surroundings, while plying his craft on the gridiron for the very first time, the International Player Pathway Program sensation and seventh-round selection is embracing the opportunity to learn on a daily basis. Per the Philadelphia Inquirer, regarding the learning process, Bernard spoke candidly and with a calm level of confidence.

"It's good," Bernard said. "I don't see anything hard if you keep working out. If you have passion for what you do, you're going to progress every day. So, I believe that the process is going smoothly."

Passion is fueling Uar Bernard's daily development

Bernard has immersed himself in all things Eagles-related, while developing in the very basics of football from square one thus far, making this such a unique situation that so many people are tracking, from Philadelphia back to Bernard's homeland in Nigeria.

Bernard is soaking up information like a sponge from veteran teammates as well as the coaching staff, most of all from defensive line coach Clint Hurtt, who, of course, provided the biggest vote of confidence for Bernard on draft weekend. And the raw rookie is certainly drawing strong reviews so far, with Jordan Davis already emerging as one of his biggest fans.

The keys that are quickly working in Bernard's favor are, of course, his off-the-charts athleticism, but perhaps just as important is the fact that he has an undeniable passion for self-improvement. He's not developing on a daily basis because he has to; he's attacking each day as a chance to get closer to making an impact because he wants to.

The videos of him back home working out alone could one day become the stuff of legend, while the pre-draft performance he put on in front of scouts and execs left the football world awestruck.

Bernard is grinding, and he's embracing every single day in his new surroundings. While you can't teach size or speed, you also can't teach passion.
