The Philadelphia Eagles started everyone's weekend with a stunning trade of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, which will have massive implications for the team in the future.

One of the main aspects of the trade that fans are discussing is whether A.J. Brown's time in Philly might be over with Wicks in the picture. It has left others wondering how the 2026 NFL Draft will unfold now that the Eagles gave the Packers a 2026 fifth-round pick from the Sydney Brown trade with the Atlanta Falcons, along with a 2027 sixth-round pick.

With the trade official, the Eagles are now entering the draft with eight selections instead of nine prior to the move. Here are the draft selections the Eagles now have:

  • Round 1, Pick 23
  • Round 2, Pick 54
  • Round 3, Pick 68
  • Round 3, Pick 98
  • Round 4, Pick 114
  • Round 4, Pick 137
  • Round 5, Pick 178
  • Round 6, Pick 197

Updated Eagles 2026 NFL Draft picks with eight selections

Losing one pick in the fifth round is not a big loss for the Eagles. That fifth-round pick sent off was part of the Falcons trade, which means they didn't have it at the start of the offseason.

Of the picks the Eagles currently have, their first- and second-round picks are the only ones that are originally theirs. Three of their picks are comp picks, their third-round pick is from the Jets, and two of their picks are from the Falcons.

This leaves the Eagles' draft strategy in an interesting place, as it may not mean that they are looking at a wide receiver anymore. Wicks was given a one-year, $12.5 million contract extension, which will keep him in Philly through the 2027 season.

Philly could end up looking more into the defense and offensive line than at receiver since they are loaded at the position. Some believe that a receiver could still be selected, though.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has more pressure on him to get these picks right with less to work with. Something tells Eagles fans that Roseman might try to load up with more picks on draft weekend if he had his chance to do so. With him, Eagles fans should expect anything from the draft and who could be brought in.
