What a game the Week 8 battle with the Cincinnati Bengals was! The Philadelphia Eagles dusted Cincy and ended a long jinx. That was fun, but it's time to move on.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a worthy opponent. The game has been moved from a primetime slot to a 4:05 pm EST kickoff. There's much to discuss including the jerseys the Birds will be wearing. They'll be rocking an all-time fan favorite.

Alternate Kelly Green Jerseys

The kelly green jersey unveil in 2023 was quite the event in Eagles Nation. Photos were leaked before the new look was introduced. In days, there was a shortage in the ensemble's availability. Several of Philly's stars threw on their modeling hats and publicly voiced their approval.

Josh Sweat said he thought the Kelly Green look should be the primary jersey, not the alternate. Good luck with that Sweaty! The midnight green jersey was the CEO's idea. We're lucky Jeffrey Lurie threw us a bone and brought these beauties back in the first place.

We shouldn't be surprised though. The boss cares about what the fans want, so the lighter shade is back, and seemingly, it is here to stay.

Significance of Today’s Jersey Selection

Before deciding in the midnight green look in 1996, the Birds had donned the lighter shade of green for years. It's probably most associated with Buddy Ryan's era and the late 80's and early 90's by today's Eagles fan (1985-1995). Kelly green jerseys and silver pants take many of us back to our childhood.
