Seventh Round (No. 233 Overall): Akil Blount, LB, Florida A&M

Blount is a small school guy and hasn’t gotten a ton of recognition leading up to the draft, but his father, Hall of Fame corner back Mel Blount, would probably be a good advocate for his services.

If Akim is anything like his father, he’ll be a quick, hard-hitting menace on defense. Blount ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash at his pro day. At 6’2″, 243 pounds, that’s not a bad time at all. The likelihood of him making the team wouldn’t be high, but the son of Mel Blount is bound to have some fight in him.
