Jason Peters, LT

Letting go of Jason Peters would be another devastating scenario in Philadelphia. The 36-year old is bypassing his 15th season in the NFL. Although he looked like he hasn’t aged a day since he stepped foot on the field last season, he ended up tearing his ACL, which put him on the injured reserve for the Super Bowl run.

We know that players can always come back from major knee injuries. Peters’ case seems a bit different though considering his age and injury history. The best case scenario for the Eagles here would be Peters agreeing to restructure his contract to free up more space. The question is, will he actually do that, though? My best guess would be to say no.

This will not be the first offseason that the Eagles will discuss a possible pay cut for Peters. And since history is known to repeat itself, Peters will most-likely decline the Eagles requests. Peters guaranteed that he will play football next year, but also made it very clear that he does not care who it is for. Considering Halapoulivaati Vaitai filled in pretty well during Peters’ absence, we might be saying farewell to another Eagles legend this summer.
