Philadelphia Eagles: 5 UDFA signings to look out for in 2018
Jeremy Reaves, S
We have had our eyes on South Alabama’s safety Jeremy Reaves for quite some time now. The small school safety surprisingly did not get selected in the seventh-round, leaving the Eagles very fortunate when the draft wrapped up. To put it simply, Reaves is a beast and plays with a high-end intensity that many players would fail to match.
Playing behind a stellar duo of veterans like Rodney McLeod and Malcolm Jenkins could benefit a lot of young players. The great thing about Reaves coming to Philly is that he holds some similar qualities to both of his soon-to-be mentors this season. While Reaves shares the hard-hitting quality with McLeod, he also shares that fact that he is a cornerback that is converted to safety with Jenkins.
Although Reaves will come in to play safety, don’t be shocked to see the Eagles try him out in the slot at cornerback. With a question mark at the position, we can expect to see many defensive backs audition for the part over the offseason. Regardless of whether Reaves finds a spot at cornerback or safety on the roster, we should expect to see him make the final 53-man depth chart when the preseason is concluded.
