Carson Wentz

The Eagles quarterback got the Eagles off to a hot start. He was on pace to win League MVP honors and being selected to the Pro Bowl in his second year. Through 13 starts, Carson Wentz ammassed 3,296 yards, 33 touchdown passes, and seven interceptions. His injury prevented him from finishing out the season and competing in the postseason.

If Wentz had been healthy, can we argue the result have been different? Considering his backup’s performance, it’s doubtful. It’s hard to imagine anyone playing  better than Nick Foles did, but if anyone is capable, it’s Wentz. Foles finished the game with three passing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown. He also threw for 373 yards. That’s a tall order for any quarterback, let alone a second-year starter.

The result probably would have been the same, an Eagles victory. It definitely would have been a close game. Certain players may have changed the outcome, but when you think about it, who cares? Eagles fans got the result they wanted. The Eagles won. The Pats lost. We can close the book on this one forever.
