Jordan Hicks

Philadelphia’s starting middle linebacker, Jordan Hicks (Simba), suffered a season-ending achilles injury in Week 7 during a game against the Eagles’ division rivals, the Washington Redskins.

In 2016, he recorded 85 total tackles, five interceptions, and a sack. That led many to believe he’d be an instrumental part of the Eagles defense and potentially help them march through the regular season and make a run in the postseason.

Having Hicks to clog up the middle may have prevented the Patriots’ running backs from making so many big plays. James White probably never would have scored on that 26-yard touchdown run. Hicks would have shut that down, so there you go. Take seven off of the board, and the Pats kick a field goal instead. That, potentially, gives the Eagles a win and a final score of 41-29.

Ok, so it never would have worked out that way. Still, the point is the same. Hicks definitely would have made a difference.
