In case of an emergency, the Eagles may need to abort the passing game, and aboard the Jay Train. This season, we are expecting to see a ton of Jay Ajayi. The Eagles gave the fourth-year veteran back their word that he will get a desirable amount of carries last week. Well, week one is the perfect time to get started on that promise, as they will need him on his best game.

Week one’s game is a statement game for Ajayi. He entered onto the Eagles roster halfway through the season last year, and pretty much backed up LeGarrette Blount for the most part. This year, Ajayi will take the reigns in the backfield, and guys like Corey Clement and Darren Sproles ultimately become his sidekicks.

It’s been quite a while since the Eagles focused on one running back, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out. We do know one thing, though, Atlanta is not very tolerable of Ajayi’s game. Before he donned the midnight green, Ajayi ran all over the Falcons offense while he was still with the Miami Dolphins.

With 26 carries, Ajayi put up his season-high of 130 rushing yards. He didn’t get the same amount of production while in an Eagles uniform, but he did have 98 all-purpose yards against the dirty birds in the divisional matchup last year. We should expect to see a new approach with the Jay Train this season, and the Falcons could be in massive trouble if he gets it going.
