9. We’d like to apologize to Chris Long.

Every time that we hear guys Orlando Scandrick say that Howie Roseman isn’t trustworthy the mind often goes to how honorable and honest Chris Long said that he was. Much of Long’s reason for his retirement centered around the fact that ‘The Birds’ decided that they’d bank more of their defensive success on Derek Barnett‘s chances of being successful in Year 3.

Just like that, Long’s career as a member of the Eagles was over after 32 games, 51 total tackles, and 11.5 sacks.

There isn’t an Eagles fan on the planet that isn’t experiencing some major regret over the fact that Long is no longer on the team. Think about that for a sec. In one fell swoop, Philly lost both Long and Bennet, and they’ve been paying for that move ever since. Grade: D
