January 11, 2009: Philly Knocks out the top-seeded Giants and shuts the Meadowlands down.

Donovan McNabb missed the playoff party in 2007. There was no way that he was missing this one in 2009. In New York’s final game at Giants Stadium, the NFC’s top-seeded ‘G-Men’ welcomed Philly for a playoff game and watched as the guest walked into their house, knocked all of the pictures off of the wall, and put their feet up on the coffee table.

Keep in mind the fact that this was the Giants team that had just destroyed the New England Patriots‘ hopes of an undefeated season one year prior.

The day was highlighted by Philly’s defense. As a team, Philly held New York to 11 points (three field goals and a safety). Donovan McNabb made headlines for picking up a pair of headphones and trying to call the Giants’ coaching staff upstairs. He earned a penalty for his antics, but it had no impact on the result of the game.

The New York Giants’ final game at Giants Stadium would result in a loss. Farewell, and good riddance.
