Joshua Perkins, tight end

Here’s a statement some of you may disagree with, but it’s worth noting. Does anyone else agree that, despite only having three available wide receivers and despite the fact that only one of them finished the game, Philly got more out of Josh Perkins than they would have gotten out of Nelson Agholor?

Why is Nelson Agholor still on this team anyway? The fans have figured it out. Why haven’t the coaches? One die-hard Eagles supporter even went so far as to create a petition for his release.

In Agholor’s absence, Perkins stepped in. he was targeted five times and caught everything that was thrown in his direction. That alone is a reason to rejoice. Five receptions led to 37 receiving yards, which isn’t a blistering statistic, but three of those five receptions resulted in timely first downs. We should all hope that he continues to improve and get more opportunities down the stretch.
