5. Wentz hanging on to the football

As much credit as Carson Wentz deserves for putting the Eagles in the current position of being on the verge of winning the NFC East title, the fumbling issues are unfortunately still there heading into Sunday.

For reasons that are difficult to explain, Wentz has struggled to hang on to the football over the last couple of years, and with the way New York has been playing as of late, Philadelphia can’t afford to see these issues be present in Week 17.

The Eagles in general already have enough problems on offense when looking at all of the injuries this team has been dealing with in 2019, and it would be a shame to come this far in the playoff race, only to see their dreams get crushed over careless mistakes like hanging on to the football.

Without Wentz, there’s no way Philadelphia is in this current position heading into Week 17 to potentially host a playoff game, whether it seems unfair over a Wild Card team or not.

If Wentz can hang on to the football, it will certainly put the Eagles in better position to defeat the Giants, but if the struggles are on display, New York will do everything in their power to take advantage of the situation.
