2. Kansas City Chiefs

Plenty of teams had reasons to celebrate on Sunday when it comes to finding out their playoff seeding, but it’s difficult to top the surprise received by the Kansas City Chiefs after the Dolphins pulled off the huge upset over the Patriots.

As a result of New England losing to their rivals, the Chiefs were bumped up to the No. 2 seed in the AFC, meaning Kansas City went from having to play on Wild Card Weekend to earning an extra week off as a result of a first-round bye.

No one needs to explain just how much of an advantage having extra time off benefits teams this time of year, and with the way the Chiefs have been playing over the last two months, Kansas City deserves to be the biggest threat within the AFC behind Baltimore.

Normally, Patrick Mahomes running the offense has always been considered the biggest threat surrounding the Chiefs, but the defense stepping up over the last two months has been a major difference maker as well.

With Kansas City entering the playoffs as winners of six games in a row, this is a team that will also have revenge on their minds after coming up short of the Super Bowl a year ago.
