4. Josh McCown

Before anyone freaks out over how ridiculous the thought of Josh McCown becoming the next offensive coordinator sounds, keep in mind the veteran’s name has been thrown around about potentially joining the staff in a smaller role.

More from Inside the Iggles

If anything, McCown seems like he would be the kind of guy who would possibly come on as the quarterbacks coach, and then one day work his way up to becoming an offensive coordinator if the interest were there.

Last summer, the last thing any football fan expected to see was the Eagles of all teams convince McCown to come out of retirement after Nate Sudfeld suffered a broken wrist in the preseason, but the decision ended up working wonders.

Not only did McCown fill in for Wentz during the playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks after the Eagles starter suffered a concussion, but the veteran has received all sorts of high praise for mentoring the quarterbacks on this team.

As previously mentioned, the best-case scenario for McCown with the Eagles if the interest were there would be to bring him on board in a smaller role such as quarterbacks coach.

But as far as offensive coordinator is concerned, that idea shouldn’t even be discussed in regards to McCown.
