Philadelphia Eagles HC Doug Pederson on Mike Groh and 4 major stories
5. Pederson opens up about the Jadeveon Clowney hit on Carson Wentz.
It’s coming up on a week since Jadeveon Clowney laid out Carson Wentz and ultimately ended the Eagles season. If you take a look around the fan base, no one’s calmed down. No one’s satisfied that a blatant targeting or unnecessary roughness penalty was missed.
No flag was thrown. No ejection followed, and at the time of this story being published, no fine has been imposed. Eagles fans and much of the Philly media is outraged. Here’s where the coach is on the way the season ended, what happened in reference to a play that will be talked about for a long time, and how QB1 is doing.
"Pederson on how things ended: I’m disappointed like our fans are, like Carson is. It’s unfortunate. It’s the part of our game that we know happens."
Here’s what he said on Clowney’s hit on Wentz.
"I’m not here to point the finger. I’m not here to blame anybody… It’s something that we try to continue to educate our players, educate our officials, educate the coaches (and) the entire league to try to get these plays out of our league.. I don’t necessarily agree with the hit. I think it should have possibly been a penalty… It;s unfortunate that it happened, the way it happened and that Carson couldn’t finish that football game… I’m disappointed that carson couldn’t finish our season."
Eagles fans everywhere concur.
