9. Sean Mannion

Around this time last year, Sean Mannion was considered one of the top backup options in free agency due to the previous two years working with Sean McVay.

One of the main reasons why the Los Angeles Rams were so high on McVay during the time of his hiring in 2017 was due to his history of quarterback development, and even though Mannion was only a backup during his time with the Rams, he still seemed like he would benefit.

Currently, Mannion is the backup to Kirk Cousins with the Minnesota Vikings, but if the team were to take a different approach in the offseason, it would be interesting to see what the market would like for the former Oregon State star.

As previously mentioned, Mannion was expected to be one of the most popular backups last offseason, but the fact that it took until April for the Vikings to sign him shows there weren’t that many teams expressing interest.

It’s difficult to determine how reliable Mannion would be as a backup if he were to draw interest from the Eagles, but at least the McVay factor would hopefully help the situation since the Rams head coach is one of the best for a reason.
