54. . . . Nate Herbig, guard. 4. player

As bad as Philly’s defense has been, the offensive line has been just as bad or worse at times. Nate Herbig has been a bright spot since Jason Peters has resumed his role at left tackle. Now, this team will need even more out of him the rest of the way.

Herbig played surprisingly well in his first start in Week 1 despite allowing a sack. Against the Rams, he showed his performance against the Washington Football Team wasn’t a fluke and performed even more solidly. With Isaac Seumalo now on the injured reserve, Herbig, as mentioned, will move to left guard. He’ll need to continue his streak of good games.

Zach Ertz, tight end. 3. player. 54. . .

We don’t know the level of Zach Ertz‘s displeasure with the Philadelphia Eagles, but these past few days, his standoff with them hasn’t been as loud as it was before their Week 1 game against Washington. The ‘Birds’ need to pay him and put this matter behind them. Their offense is better when they make their star tight end a big part of what they want to do. It’s as simple as that.

Ertz dropped a key fourth-down completion in Week 1, but he simply hasn’t had the impact he has had in previous seasons. Dallas Goedert now has a bigger role in the offense, but that’s also because of Ertz’s presence. The Eagles would be foolish not to feature him in their gameplan against the Bengals in Week 3.
