Arguments can be made that Howie’s all in on the Philadelphia Eagles’ season.

Even though people believe Howie Roseman has developed a bit of a lackadaisical attitude, the argument can also be made that no one works harder at finding talent to make their team better than Philly’s G.M.

Okay, let’s throw out Howie’s best work, what he did in 2017. Yes, there’s been a bit of a dropoff, especially in this team’s overall talent. Yes, he’s given a lot of money to guys that aren’t even playing, but the man has done all that he can.

Sure, you can blame him for Donnel Pumphrey and JJ Arcega-Whiteside, but if you do that, you also have to give him credit for Dallas Goedert and for finding Jordan Mailata.

In 2020’s draft, Roseman hustled his way into additional late-round picks and he was active in free agency. He addressed the offensive line (Jack Driscoll and Prince Tega-Wanogho), he found linebackers (Davion Taylor and Shaun Bradley), he added speed at wide receiver (John Hightower, Jalen Reagor, and Quez Watkins). Oh, and he made a day-three trade for a burner in Marquise Goodwin.

Marquise Goodwin opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns, but some of the issues with those other guys revolve around coaching. Philadelphia’s coaching staff has to get these guys ready and on the field, and when they don’t, you can’t blame Howie for that.

It has to be said again. Mr. Roseman has been working his butt off.
