Alshon Jeffery has disappointed Philadephia Eagles fans without even playing.

Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been a concern for the past two seasons. After long-time Eagles analyst Howard Eskin outed him as former ESPN employee Josina Anderson’s anonymous source, Jeffery has had his sights on proving that the Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman didn’t make a mistake in paying him.

When the Eagles decided to leave Jeffery on the active roster when the season began, fans were relatively excited to see number 17 return relatively early in the campaign. We’ve now reached the midpoint of the Eagles season, and Jeffery doesn’t seem to be any closer to returning than he was two months ago. The question is will he even play this year?

Once upon a time, Jeffery was one of the heroes of the 52nd Super Bowl, but now, it would seem that age and, possibly, a lack of heart are the major reasons why he’s still on the sideline. With the rise of Travis Fulgham, there is seemingly little to no point in even having Jeffery on the 53 man roster anymore.

Jeffery had a large decline in overall production last season. The 30-year-old receiver may continue to play football after the 2020 season, but it won’t be as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
