Philadelphia Eagles are expecting Jalen Reagor to take the next step in 2021.

Picture this for a second. Philly decides to stay with Jalen Hurts. Doug Pederson is allowed to stay on, but he’s required to get some help. You know, like an offensive coordinator for instance, and/or someone to take over the playcalling duties.

Special teams coordinator Dave Fipp is fired and replaced by someone, and both he and Philly’s offensive coordinator find ways to utilize Jalen Reagor to his strengths. That means he’s moved around, schemed open, and utilized as a punt returner.

They’ll have to teach him how to catch those punts, but once that happens, Mr. Reagor will, at minimum, start sneaking into the debate as one of the game’s best return specialists.

Once he starts taking a few screen passes to the house like fellow rookie Quez Watkins did in Week 15 of 2020’s season, all of the talk about the theory that Philly should have taken Justin Jefferson over him will calm some. Jefferson’s the better player, but Reagor may indeed be the better fit for this Eagles offense. You just wait and see (we hope).
