The Philadelphia Eagles head coach was firm on a few key answers.

1. Carson Wentz is not a guaranteed starter.

The very first question out of the gate had to do with the biggest question on everyone’s mind, was he hired with the stipulation on fixing Carson Wentz? Sirianni said very blatantly, no.

He also stated that he had talked to both quarterbacks, and he chose to keep those conversations private. Still, he was unequivocal on the word evaluation.

2. It seems that no current player on the Eagles roster is safe.

Perhaps, the biggest takeaway from Sirianni’s first-ever press conference was evaluation. He laid out his steps to bring in his coaching staff and was very open about, then, evaluating the current roster.

He also used the word ‘competing’. He was also very open about the need to compete daily and how that is something of value that he wants to see on a daily basis from all of his players.
