Philadelphia Eagles 7-round NFL mock draft: Rebuilding Philly’s offense
By Smit Bajaj
The Philadelphia Eagles add some more cornerback help on day three.
With Avonte Maddox’s struggles as an outside cornerback last year, it’s clear that the Eagles need to add some depth on the outside. Marco Wilson is a lengthy cornerback who just like Benjamin St-Juste, would presumably fit the Eagles defensive scheme.
Another part of Wilson’s game that Eagles fans would love is his tackling. He’s not afraid to use his physicality to bring down ball carriers. In a league that targets cornerbacks in one-on-one tackling opportunities on the outside, Wilson’s ability to tackle makes him an attractive day three option.
The Philadelphia Eagles take a former Texas Longhorn in Round 7.
Aside from Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave, the Philadelphia Eagles might be thin at defensive tackle moving forward. Malik Jackson is expected to be released soon and Hassan Ridgeway’s contract has expired.
Ta’Quon Graham isn’t particularly explosive, but as a potential third-string option, he doesn’t need to be. He’s a big and sturdy defender with powerful hands. The Eagles would be lucky to land Graham in the final round of the NFL draft.

Amari Gainer would be an amazing day three addition to the Eagles roster. A player with unbelievable athleticism, Gainer was a swiss army knife for the Florida State Seminoles. He can line up as an off-ball linebacker, safety, or even on the defensive line.
Gainer’s athleticism alone makes him worth a gamble in the seventh round. Who knows, the Philadelphia Eagles might find another Jalen Mills-type player in the last round of the 2021 NFL draft. One can dream, right?
