team. 60. . . . Minnesota Vikings.

This only moves the Philadelphia Eagles back two more spots.

As you know, the Philadelphia Eagles are currently scheduled to select at the 12th slot. Their needs have been well documented. If nothing changed, and the Birds made their selection, they’d be followed by the Los Angeles Chargers at 13 and the Minnesota Vikings at 14.

The wild card in this is what everyone expects the Los Angeles Chargers to do. You’d suspect that they’d think tackle to protect their Justin Herbert investment, but they also need help at corner, guard, and at safety.

If Philly is no longer in play for one of the draft’s best cover guys once we get to the 12th spot, Patrick Surtain II or Jaycee Horn, a very real possibility, they could shift their attention to a wide receiver.

If one of the premier talents is still available at wideout, the Birds could slide back to 14 with the comfort of knowing the Vikings may address another need as they hit the jackpot with Justin Jefferson a year ago.

Sorry Eagles fans. We know that still stings. A point can be made here though. The Vikes, like L.A., also need help along the offensive line, and they may be concerned that they’ll need to jump the Chargers to get one of those premier guys that everyone wants. Hey, it’s just a theory. We’ll have to wait and see what transpires.
