The last three receivers to land a spot on the Philadelphia Eagles roster.

4. Greg Ward

Believe it or not, Greg Ward is the ‘veteran’ of the wide receiver group at 25 years old. While it’s nice to have youth at the position, it’s also concerning that the Eagles’ most experienced wide receiver has only played in two seasons.

With Jalen Reagor moving to the slot, Ward may be phased out of the offense completely. He’s been decently reliable but doesn’t offer much upside outside of the short passing game. The former quarterback can still be called upon in case of an injury, however.

5. John Hightower

John Hightower was actually featured quite a bit early in the 2020 season, but his snaps were given to Quez Watkins in the last few weeks. The Boise State product was almost exclusively a deep threat and while he struggled with drops at times, Hightower flashed big-play ability.

It’s here where his upside is found: the vertical passing attack. If the coaching staff values Hightower’s deep ball traits highly enough, he should make the 53-man roster.

6. Quez Watkins

Outside of a spectacular screen pass touchdown against the Cardinals, Quez Watkins is working with a small sample size to plead his case. He struggles in press coverage which limits his potential as an outside receiver, but he does flash potential playing off the line of scrimmage.

Watkins is a burner and knows how to use his speed to create space. His speed and return man potential will give him a fighter’s chance to make the roster and gets him the spot in this scenario.
