Jalen Hurts worst throws of Week 8

Leading 7-0 early in the third quarter, the Eagles face 3rd and three from the Lions’ 26 1/2-yard line. Jalen Hurts makes what looks like two reads, scrambles to his left for a change (seemingly unnecessarily), throws without resetting, and delivers a ball from the 34-yard line to the intended receiver Dallas Goedert who’s running free at about the 16-yard line.

This one’s a bad miss as the ball is behind Goedert and results in a fourth down. Jake Elliott knocked one through the uprights on the next play, but in that situation, you’d like to see a better throw and the conversion on third down.

There was also the trick play. Take a look:

It’s nice to see some creativity there, and Philly got a nice gain, but the result here is a much better reception than pass.

You’d like to see Hurts lead Goedert a little more there. Had he been able to do so, Goedert makes the catch while still running and possibly gets a few more yards here. In fairness, there was pressure in Hurts’ face, so you can debate among yourselves about whether that altered the throw or not.
