The Eagles add offensive weapons in Round 4 and the first selection in Round 5.

Here’s what we’re hoping for. By the time the Eagles arrive at the end of April, they will have corrected one of the biggest errors of the past five offseasons, ignoring D.K. Metcalf to select J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. Yes fans, we want JJAW out of here and a trade that allows D.K. to trade one Birds nest for another.

Even if that happens, however, Philly still needs depth options at wide receiver, and for that reason, we like Dontario Drummond of the Ole Miss Rebels. He caught 76 passes for 1,028 yards and reached the end zone eight times. If that could somehow translate to the NFL level for Drummond in an Eagles jersey, he’d be able to run for city council at the end of his rookie season.

Have you ever noticed the Eagles seldom draft tight ends? No, seriously, since 2013, they’ve drafted two, Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. That’s it. That’s the list.

Fortunately, this is one of those position groupings they get right. For as bad as Philly has been at evaluating wide receivers, they’ve been phenomenal at adding talent to the tight end room. They went from Chad Lewis to L.J. Smith to Brent Celek to eventually Ertz and Goedert, but with Jason Croom, Tyree Jackson, Richard Rodgers, Jack Stoll, and Noah Togiai on the roster, it may be time to invest some draft capital into the position.

The last time the Eagles grabbed someone from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers’ roster was last year, and it looks like Tarron Jackson will be good.  Heading into 2022’s draft, Coastal has a few more studs entering the selection meeting, one of which is a tight end that should be available early on Day 3. Isaiah Likely would be a slam dunk for Philly in Round 5.
