NFL Power Rankings: Tier 5 (the middle of the pack)

. 1-3. . New England Patriots. 20. team. 47

Josh McDaniels may not be in Vegas long. Don’t be shocked if he finds his way home at some point. His former team looks like they need him. The New England Patriots took the Green Bay Packers to overtime at Lambeau Field, but ‘almost’ is a long way from winning.

Here’s a bright spot. Bailey Zappe began his NFL career with a 107.4 passer rating which is excellent. He may be able to buy them a few weeks until Mac Jones is back.

. Indianapolis Colts. 19. team. 46. . 1-2-1

Unfortunately, the Indianapolis Colts’ win against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3 didn’t give them the momentum they needed to defeat their division rivals, the Tennessee Titans, in Week 4.

The Colts are 1-2-1 in 2022 but 0-2-1 in their division. If that trend continues, they won’t have to worry about the postseason because they won’t be qualifying.

. Tennessee Titans. 18. team. 35. . 2-2

Ryan Tannehill’s days in Tennessee may be numbered, as the 34-year-old quarterback has only thrown for 784 yards in four games. It’s becoming even more apparent that this team is only productive on offense if Derrick Henry is carrying them. Divisional superiority in the AFC South may come down to them and the Jacksonville Jaguars, but if The King isn’t healthy, they may not be able to win it.

. Denver Broncos. 17. team. 45. . 2-2

Newly acquired Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos have been off to a rocky start in the mountains of Colorado. The Broncos have struggled to win. New head coach Nathaniel Hackett has also struggled to manage the clock so far this year. He’s also made questionable play calls and decisions. Now, with second-year running back Javonte Williams out for the year with a torn ACL, Melvin Gordon, who already has four fumbles this season, will now be Denver’s feature back. This team needs a reversal of fortune – and fast.
