NFL Power Rankings: Tier 4 (not quite elite but definitely formidable)

. Jacksonville Jaguars. 16. team. 52. . 2-2

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made some strides with Doug Pederson as head coach. Before getting dismantled during the final three quarters in Week 4 by the Eagles in a sloppy game, they had impressed during the first three weeks. It will be exciting to see how far the Jaguars can climb as this is a much better-looking team than it was with Urban Meyer leading them.

Arizona Cardinals. 15. team. 32. . 2-2.

A blowout loss at home against the Kansas City Chiefs is the last way any team wants to begin its season, but it’s certainly better than collapsing at the end of a season that way. No, wait! That Cardinals have done that too. Kyler Murray has shown off an incredible ability to extend plays when it matters most, and Arizona’s defense has been able to generate six turnovers so far this year, giving them the NFL’s third-best turnover differential of +4.

Next up is the Eagles. We’ll see how things go.

31. . 3-1. . New York Giants. 14. team

Though seen by many as being a fraud, the New York Giants have impressed so far this season, getting out to a 3-1 start against all odds. Saquon Barkley seems to have found his stride again, averaging 5.5 yards per carry and over 100 yards per game. Daniel Jones may not be the answer for Big Blue, but the G-Men have remained afloat, thanks in large part to holding teams under 200 passing yards and under 20 points per contest.
