NFL Power Rankings: Tier 3 (the slightly above-average tier)

56. . 2-2. . Cincinnati Bengals. 13. team

The Cincinnati Bengals’ slow start may have been blown out of proportion. They’re seemingly an interception away from being 3-1. Three of the AFC North’s four teams have two wins or more with the exception being the Steelers. Joe Burrow and the division’s most talented team have plenty of time to right the ship. Plus, Burrow has thrown six touchdowns versus zero interceptions since Week 1.

Dallas Cowboys. 12. team. 123. . 3-1.

Cooper Rush continues to win, and he may have bought the Dallas Cowboys some time as Dak Prescott continues to heal. A 3-1 record at this moment is as good a mark as this team could have asked for, but the Cowboys’ mettle will be tested over the next two weeks with games versus the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles.

. San Francisco 49ers. 11. team. 42. . 2-2

Second-year quarterback Trey Lance’s season-ending injury would have been a death sentence to the San Francisco 49ers’ 2022 season if not for Jimmy Garappolo. Head coach Kyle Shanahan once again finds himself bringing out the best in Jimmy G as the duo has beaten both Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams.

The 49ers’ defense has also managed to have six takeaways this season while holding all of their opponents to under 20 points in the young season. This is a championship-caliber defense that has returned to form. Their questions are about the quarterback position.
