As you’d expect, Nick Sirianni goes to bat for Jalen Hurts.

Nick Sirianni’s 22-minute interview began with a nice conversation about his courage to be unapologetically himself. It’s a must-hear, and truthfully, it’s a nice example of self-awareness. Think about it, if he wasn’t, no one in the NFL player, including his players, would respect him.

All of Sirianni’s metaphors are a huge part of who he is and part of the persona that he rode to becoming one of the NFL’s successful and better young head coaches.

The next topic involved a conversation about Sirianni’s players, beginning with Eagles starting quarterback and team captain Jalen Hurts. McAfee asked what it was about Hurts that makes him ‘the guy’ and if there was anything that could help him improve his game. Sirianni answered by screaming (and we do mean ‘screaming’ that Jalen Hurts is a dog and that his QB1 is the embodiment of dog mentality. Sirianni then mentioned that, no matter what Hurts does, he keeps a level head, never letting his emotion get the best of him.

Coach added to that point, stating it doesn’t matter if Jalen rushes for a touchdown, fumbles the football, or sees the bleachers collapse on him after a win, he’s still as calm, as cool, and as collected as he always is.
