Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Josh Sweat

On September 18th of 2021, Josh Sweat inked a three-year $40 million extension to stay with the Eagles through the 2024 season. That deal gave him more security than any other defensive lineman on the roster had at the time. Truthfully, he had earned it and it was well deserved.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Sweat has become a solid source of production and has cemented himself as a mid-round steal. He has accumulated 21.0 sacks in 65 career games, despite only starting 26 of them.

Since becoming a full-time starter in 2021, Sweat has recorded 10.5 sacks in 23 consecutive appearances.

He’s producing on par with some of the greatest Eagles ever and is a perfect fit in their scheme. If he continues to improve, he could see another extension down the road.

Philadelphia Eagles interior defensive lineman Jordan Davis

The youngest face of the Eagles’ defensive line has also quickly become a fan favorite. Jordan Davis has landed on injured reserve and was quiet on the stat sheet before he suffered an ankle injury, but his impact during the time he was onfield can’t be measured in stats alone.

The 22-year-old rookie is a monster in short-yardage situations. Jordan Davis has been a phenomenal run-stopper and will likely continue to etch himself in the hearts of Birds fans as he’s under contract through the 2026 season.
