While most of the trade talk surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles has been all about A.J. Brown, there is another player who has been picking up some buzz as well: being moved from the Eagles.
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter has found himself in conversations since he was rumored to be part of the initial Maxx Crosby trade talks, before being traded to the Baltimore Ravens and then coming back to the Las Vegas Raiders. All of a sudden, this week, Philly has been getting calls from other NFL teams about Carter to see if he is available.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he was asked about Carter and whether he could be traded this offseason. Schefter was quick to shut those rumors down.
"The Eagles have never made Jalen Carter available and they have never shopped him."
Eagles not interested in trading Jalen Carter
Of course, the Eagles would not be in the business of trading Carter, as it makes zero sense for them to do that. Sure, Carter had his issues last season, from the spitting incident against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 to his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the second half against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, but he is too good to let go of.
Carter has been to the Pro Bowl two times in three seasons. He played only 11 games in 2025 and was still on track to earn his second straight Pro Bowl selection.
So far this offseason, Jordan Davis landed his massive contract extension to stay on the team for three years after the 2026 season. Carter is up for his fifth-year option on his rookie contract, which is expected to be $27.1 million in 2027. The Eagles would rather just give Carter his new deal.

Philly will eventually do the right thing, but had to go through some bumps and bruises with the rumor mill. It sounds like Carter is here to stay for a long time.
