The madness just never ends for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and the alarming amount of criticism he has to take on a daily basis.
This week has been wild for Hurts, as ESPN's Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler went scorched-earth with criticism of the quarterback, citing bad body language, not taking coaching well, and calling the four vertical routes on the final play in the playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers last year. Things have not gotten better one day after the other, as The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane piled on with a report that the Eagles are not giving Hurts an extension this offseason, with 2026 potentially being a make-or-break season.
It appears that everyone is coming out of the woodwork to give their opinion (mostly negative) on Hurts. There is one Eagles reporter who might have an idea for Hurts to counter all these rumors, but it may not be one the fan base would agree with.
Eagles reporter has a suggestion for Jalen Hurts
While appearing on SportsRadio 94 WIP, Eagles beat reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks shared an idea that Hurts should follow. Shorr-Parks wants Hurts to challenge the Eagles.
"So if I was Jalen, I would call their bluff. I would say pay me or trade me." Shorr-Parks said. "I would demand a trade, yes. I don't know if I would sit out, but I would voice my displeasure with them."
'If they feel this way about him, what the (Tim) McManus story says, why wouldn't they trade him?"
Not many Eagles are going to want Hurts to leave the franchise, and he doesn't seem like the type that would do that. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie has already expressed his public support and admiration for his quarterback, and head coach Nick Sirianni backs Hurts as well.
If the reports are true, the hope is that Hurts will work well with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion and they can collaborate to improve the offense. Hurts has already expressed his excitement to work with Mannion more than he did with former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo when he was promoted last year.

What has already been a very long offseason will continue to feel that way as Eagles fans haven't hit the tip of the iceberg on what is coming next. Don't forget about the good old A.J. Brown trade rumors everyone loves to talk about.
