The Philadelphia Eagles' front office remains extremely active as Philly rolls into the second week of its offseason.
After the team signed 2025 practice squad member Ambry Thomas to a futures deal, the Eagles signed their 15th member to a futures deal. With some uncertainty at the tight end position, the Eagles opted to sign Jahiem Bell.
Eagles add a tight end to the roster
Bell was a seventh-round pick by the New England Patriots in 2024 out of Florida State, after spending three seasons at South Carolina. Bell would appear in 15 games as a rookie for New England, recording two receptions for 20 yards on 83 offensive snaps in 2024.
Bell would be released by the Patriots during the 2025 training camp; however, he would earn a practice squad spot with the Eagles on October 15, spending six days with the team before his release on October 21. Bell would earn another opportunity with the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 31, spending the remainder of the 2025 NFL season with the team until their playoff loss to the Houston Texans.
With the signing of Bell, the Eagles have signed their second tight end to a futures deal, preparing for a possible turnover at the position. Currently, Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and Kylen Granson are all free agents, with only Cameron Latu rostered for the 2026 season.
The Eagles have been linked to drafting a tight end in the early rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft, especially with Dallas Goedert entering his age-31 season and Calcaterra seemingly not stepping into a more prominent role.

The Eagles have 15 players under futures deals as the team prepares for free agency and the re-signing of current players. NFL teams are allowed to offer as many futures deals as they'd like as long as the team stays under the 90-man roster limit cap for the offseason.
