The Dallas Cowboys vs. The Detroit Lions

This is so messed up: For the Eagles to secure the second seed in the NFC, we need the Lions to lose one of their last two games, but… that means we want the Cowboys to win. That’s just wrong. It’s disgusting.

What matters more to you? If the Lions triumph over Dallas, Philly needs a Detroit loss in Week 18 versus the Nick Mullens-led Minnesota Vikings squad. The Week 17 Cowboys loss seems more likely. Again, hoping for a Dallas win is a disgusting conundrum.

Prediction: Lions +5.5

The Lions probably won’t win because this is a home game for the Cowboys and they are a different team at home. That being said, we know that the Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff is an indoor cat. That will serve him well in this one.

The Lions are scoring 31.5 points per game when they are playing indoors this season. Compare that to the 23.5 points per game outdoors. They’ll be able to put up points. That’s how it works.

Neither of these defenses are particularly good, so it really comes down to which offense blinks first. It’ll probably be the Lions, but they’ll be able to keep it close.
