Recent revelation makes NY Jets trade with Eagles look much better than expected

The reward for dealing Haason Reddick could be better than we were previously promised.

The Haason Reddick saga keeps on getting stranger. We still haven't seen him in a New York Jets jersey and probably never will. Things took a drastic turn when his agency basically said 'Yo, we can't do this anymore'. If you think that's crazy, how about this little nugget? A huge segment of the Philadelphia Eagles fan base would welcome him back with open arms.

Honestly, we can't say we blame you if you're in that camp. Who cares if he's selfish if he can produce consistent pressure? Have you seen this Eagles pass rush? Beating up on the Cleveland Browns hasn't convinced us that everything is right with the world now.

Don't worry if you're glad he's gone. Someone actually took time to research whether or not this was a possibility while the rest of us argued. We found out it isn't. Reddick can't be traded back to Philly until a couple of years pass... They could sign him as an unrestricted free agent though.

Guess what? None of that is the best part of today's story. Wouldn't you know it? Philly might reap better rewards for shipping Reddick off than previously expected.

Josina Anderson

We can always count on Josina Anderson for good intel. Coaches and players tend to open up to her in ways that they don't for other NFL Insiders. She recently weighed in on the ongoing Reddick biopic.

No one gets more out residually out of a deal than Eagles Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman. Remember how he milked that Carson Wentz trade? This one isn't as dramatic as that, but this is good news... unless Reddick gets traded to one of the NFC's contenders.

The previous compensation involved the Eagles landing the New York Jets' third-rounder in 2026. That pick was originally scheduled to become a second-rounder in 2026 if Reddick logged ten sacks and played 67.5% of the defensive snaps.

So, fingers are crossed, sort of. We'd hate to see him in San Francisco, Dallas, or Detroit. The Motor City makes sense though as the Lions have lost Aidan Hutchinson to injury.
